Captiva Island

Dylan's first airplane ride:)
We are back from our wonderful vacation from Florida. This was Dylan's first plane ride and he loved it. He said, "Whoa, Whoa.......," and just giggled when we took off. We spent four days at Sanibel-Captiva Island in southern Florida. It is known as the seashell capital of the world. The boys were not disappointed. The water was a little rough to swim, but the beach was lined with thousands of little unique shells. We stopped by the famous Bubble Room Restaurant. The boys loved it. It is decorated in all Christmas and antiques. Every room has a train that makes its way above you. Dylan was loving that!!
Dominick is swimming very well. It kind of clicked as we were at our hotel's pool. He swims underwater for quite a distance.
Something else that clicked was Dylan's tooth on the side of the pool. Thinking it was somehow edible he chipped his tooth as he bit into the concrete. I was sick to my stomach, but Shawn reminded me that we should be thankful he hasn't broken anything yet. He is such a monkey! Dylan decided a week before we left that he was ready to potty train. He literally takes his diaper off and sits on the little potty. So....the entire vacation was full of little potty breaks! He was even waking up dry. What a big boy:) You should see how delighted he is each time he makes a present in the potty. We sing, we dance, we clap.........quite entertaining:)
We then drove to Orlando for the remaining six days. Dominick remembered everything! He is the most aware 4 year old I know. Details are everything to this kid! We spent the first day/afternoon at the pool. Dominick was making friends like crazy. He loves other kids and is such a social bumble bee. It comes so natural to him. Not shy like his Mommy at all:( We then went to the Magical Kingdom. Shawn went with us a couple of days before he had to work. As Dominick stated several times, "It is magical!" This age is perfect for Disney World. I know some people say wait until they are older, so that they can enjoy and remember it. However, there is such a small amount of time when they still believe in the magic. The boys thought they really met Micky Mouse, the Little Einstein's, Handy Manny, and Buzz Lightyear. That was truly the magical part for me. Too soon will they grow out of this imaginative world where their child like heart accepts all possibilities!
The next few days we covered the rest of the parks. Dominick had to get his face painted at Animal Kingdom and little Dylan joined in on the fun. The spectra light parade and fireworks show was the most meaningful to Dominick. He would tell everyone, even the bus driver on the shuttle home that, "Dreams do come true and we should make everyday magical." So adorable! As was, Dylan's little black eye he got from climbing on a gate waiting in line for the magic carpets. This kid is out of control! .....But it did make him look tough!!!
We also went to Downtown Disney where there is a T Rex restaurant similar to Rainforest cafe, but with dinosaurs. So cool!
What a wonderful vacation! We are worn out, but so grateful we had the opportunity. Enjoy the pics:)

Another Moment with Dom.......

Some times I just like to sit and think about the old days...

Happy "Smothers" Day.

Serious business here!!!

Brazilian JJ Man

Slip and Slide......

Well the big man got another stripe and is moving toward his yellow belt. You should see him in class....so cute!!! The boys and I have been enjoying the last few days of the official school year by visiting with Nana and Grandaddy at the ranch, going to the zoo, and fishing at the lake. The Summer fun begins and I will cherish it so. Mommy is officially back to work in the Fall. So, splish splash, yum yum, Summer is for having fun!!!!!

FYI: Dom caught 5 strippers last week ALL by himself. He is quite the fisherman. With that said, if you are going to speak to Dominick about fishing here are the terms you should use:

Line= Lion
Bobber= Robber
Trolling= Patrolling
Also at the moment, I have found some steals on strollers. I have some brand new in the box like.....Quinny Buzz in juice, Mountain Urban Buggy in Moss. I also have a Maclaren Twin Techno that is used. If you know anybody who is interested let me know.....I can give you the family discount:)

Better than any knock knock joke.......

Have I mentioned how hilarious my child is??? Yesterday afternoon, Dominick comes in the kitchen and explains that he thinks his butt has allergies. Puzzled, I ask him why he thinks this.

His reply, "Because, it won't stop sneezing!" Not very classy.....but oh so funny.

The Reformation

So.....I have noticed that my stubborn, inquisitive, motor-mouth, free spirited little boy has somehow left the world of toddlers and entered boyhood. He is now 41/2. I know halves seem so trivial, unless you notice a huge transformation!!! Halves have never been so necessary!!!

We are now able to go to a restaurant without screaming, whining, throwing food, or getting out of our seat. This is a big step for the Dub family. In fact, even with naughty little Dylan, life has been much calmer. Has anyone else been through a major milestone, with their children, where it is obvious that age played a role?

Finally, an update!

Shawn is finally back after being gone almost 3 weeks of the month! The boys are so excited! Mommy is pretty happy as well.

Well the big news is Dominick started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. UFC here we come, baby! He is doing well and man is it exciting. He is a white belt but can not wait to get his stripes!!! If your not careful he might pull a backpack move or put you in a choke hold:) Mommy was the one taking him to his first classes, so it was very interesting when they began talking about grounding and pounding. I know....most of you are lost with these terms. Come to our house and enjoy a complimentary dose of a Pay-Per-View fight and you will be a pro.!

Easter was awesome and we went to church with my Mom and Dad. Dom loves the cousins!!! I think Dylan thinks all plastic eggs have a little piece of heaven inside!!! We really had a great time.

Yesterday, we had an appointment about Dylan's asthma. They are putting him on medicine he will use in his nebulizer, until he is old enough for an inhaler. (5 or 6) I can't wait to get him started poor boy!

Looking forward, we are so excited about our little get away to Great Wolf Lodge next weekend. We will stay for several days:) We were there for Dominick's birthday, so he knows what to expect and is so excited.

I hope everyone is well, and hopefully the next post will come a little quicker:)

Go Fly A Kite!

Like sand in an hour glass......

GiGi rounding the boys up.

Such a sweet smile.

Dylan enjoying the ducks.

Dominick taking a break to just be still and see God's art.

My future little CEO. It is so stressful, he may need to book a spa retreat soon.

Dylan let go of his kite........I will translate:
"Go get my kite Mom, it went that way!"

Dominick did it!!! uP uP aNd aWaY........

I don't have much time to update because the boys are going crazy and Dad is out of town. We went to fly kites yesterday and it was so much fun! The boys loved it. We also played outside a little bit and the boys were being so sweet, I thought I would take a few videos.
