We are back from our wonderful vacation from Florida. This was Dylan's first plane ride and he loved it. He said, "Whoa, Whoa.......," and just giggled when we took off. We spent four days at Sanibel-Captiva Island in southern Florida. It is known as the seashell capital of the world. The boys were not disappointed. The water was a little rough to swim, but the beach was lined with thousands of little unique shells. We stopped by the famous Bubble Room Restaurant. The boys loved it. It is decorated in all Christmas and antiques. Every room has a train that makes its way above you. Dylan was loving that!!
Dominick is swimming very well. It kind of clicked as we were at our hotel's pool. He swims underwater for quite a distance.
Something else that clicked was Dylan's tooth on the side of the pool. Thinking it was somehow edible he chipped his tooth as he bit into the concrete. I was sick to my stomach, but Shawn reminded me that we should be thankful he hasn't broken anything yet. He is such a monkey! Dylan decided a week before we left that he was ready to potty train. He literally takes his diaper off and sits on the little potty. So....the entire vacation was full of little potty breaks! He was even waking up dry. What a big boy:) You should see how delighted he is each time he makes a present in the potty. We sing, we dance, we clap.........quite entertaining:)
We then drove to Orlando for the remaining six days. Dominick remembered everything! He is the most aware 4 year old I know. Details are everything to this kid! We spent the first day/afternoon at the pool. Dominick was making friends like crazy. He loves other kids and is such a social bumble bee. It comes so natural to him. Not shy like his Mommy at all:( We then went to the Magical Kingdom. Shawn went with us a couple of days before he had to work. As Dominick stated several times, "It is magical!" This age is perfect for Disney World. I know some people say wait until they are older, so that they can enjoy and remember it. However, there is such a small amount of time when they still believe in the magic. The boys thought they really met Micky Mouse, the Little Einstein's, Handy Manny, and Buzz Lightyear. That was truly the magical part for me. Too soon will they grow out of this imaginative world where their child like heart accepts all possibilities!
The next few days we covered the rest of the parks. Dominick had to get his face painted at Animal Kingdom and little Dylan joined in on the fun. The spectra light parade and fireworks show was the most meaningful to Dominick. He would tell everyone, even the bus driver on the shuttle home that, "Dreams do come true and we should make everyday magical." So adorable! As was, Dylan's little black eye he got from climbing on a gate waiting in line for the magic carpets. This kid is out of control! .....But it did make him look tough!!!
We also went to Downtown Disney where there is a T Rex restaurant similar to Rainforest cafe, but with dinosaurs. So cool!
What a wonderful vacation! We are worn out, but so grateful we had the opportunity. Enjoy the pics:)
